Security situation at the Eastern Side of Sabah in Malaysia
The situation at the Eastern Side of Sabah in Malaysia continues to deteriorate.
Recently, three crews of a fishing vessel were kidnapped on 7th July 2016 and five crews of a tug boat were kidnapped on 16th July 2016. Both incidents were caused by terrorists and happened at Lahad Datu.
As of now, because nobody can guarantee safety in these areas (Lahad Datu, Kunak, Tawau amd Sempurna), surveyors cannot be dispatched to vessels anchored off the coast of the above mentioned area for the time being.
