ClassNK ZETA (Zero Emission Transition Accelerator)
ClassNK ZETA (Zero Emission Transition Accelerator) is a tool to enable various customers to manage GHG emissions from ships. ClassNK ZETA is a tool that links to the ClassNK MRV Portal, a system that stores data such as fuel consumption of ships. It is equipped with features for constantly monitoring CO2 emissions and CII ratings of individual ships and entire fleets, and for simulating how CO2 emissions and CII ratings would change if slow steaming, etc. was implemented.
It is also an integrated data management platform that can be used for reporting based on global frameworks such as the Poseidon Principles by a variety of customers, including shipowners, charterers, financial institutions, and cargo owners."ClassNK's verification services for EU/UK regulations etc are completely independent from ClassNK ZETA. Overview of ClassNK ZETA
Basic Functions of ClassNK ZETA
- ClassNK ZETA provides following basic functions.
- Emission Monitoring：Displays CO2 emissions, CII rating, etc. of individual ships without delay.
- EU-ETS：For EU Emissions Trading System (EU-ETS), users can monitor GHG emissions subject to the EU-ETS and manage emission allowances of individual ships or fleet.
- CII Simulator：Simulates the changes in CO2 emissions and CII ratings for an individual ship that would be seen by slow steaming, installing energy-saving devices, etc. Various simulations enable users to consider measures for reducing CO2 emissions.
- CII Fleet Simulator ：Simulates the changes in CO2 emissions and CII ratings for fleet that would be seen by slow steaming, installing energy-saving devices.
- CII Benchmark Viewer ：Based on the analysis of IMO-DCS and EU-MRV data, users can compare the CII ratings of a ship to other similar ships by "ship type/size" and “ship age”. It enables to check the competitive edge of the ship of CII ratings and consider the necessity for actions.
Functions of ClassNK ZETA
- ClassNK ZETA also provides Functions which are available as a paid service.
- FuelEU Maritime：Users can check and manage fuel consumptions, energy used, GHG emissions, GHG intensity, etc. subject to FuelEU Maritime of individual ships or fleet. This feature can be used free of charge until the end of December 2024 as a trial period.
ClassNK ZETA data usage
ClassNK ZETA is also available to shipowners and charterers by obtaining permission of data usage* from ship management companies that have provided their data to the ClassNK MRV Portal.
