The updated Merchant Marine Circular MMC-277 "Fire Control Plan graphical symbols and Verification" has been released from the Panamanian Government. This Technical Information supersedes the previous ClassNK Technical Information No. TEC-0957.

The Administration recommends that IMO Resolution A.952(23) symbols are incorporated if it becomes necessary for any reason to reissue a vessel's Fire Control Plan, especially on vessels the keels of which are laid on or after 1 January 2004.
The Administration also recommends that the IMO Resolution A.1116 (30) symbols are incorporated in the fire control plan on ships constructed on or after 1 January 2019 in combination with the IMO Resolution A.952(23) symbols as appropriate.
