With the 1996 Amendments to the 1974 SOLAS Convention, the Netherlands
Government has specified their test/examination requirements, including the following, for survival crafts and associated launching appliances on the Netherlands flag ships.
･Pressure test and air renewal for air bottles for self supporting air supply system
every 5 years.
･Inspection of inflatable rescue boats and their engines by manufacturer or his
representative every 2.5 years.
In case where a survey for life-saving appliances of a Netherlands flag ship is scheduled, it is recommended that further information in this respect should be sought from the Society.
