For ships other than bulk carriers, as defined in SOLAS Reg. IX/1, immersion suits are unnecessary by revised SOLAS Reg. III/32.3.2 if the ship is constantly engaged on voyages in warm climates where, in the opinion of the Administration.
Singapore government notified that Initial Exemption Certificate from the installation of immersion suits should be issued by that Administration. For the initial issuance of this Exemption Certificate, an application for immersion suits exemption as well as a copy of a valid Safety Equipment Certificate is sent directly to the Administration.
