The Cyprus Government enacts their national legislation including Council Directive 96/98/EC on marine equipment as amended by Commission Directive 2008/67/EC. Therefore the Cyprus Government has notified of instruction for the Directive as follows.

The provisions of Commission Directive 2008/67/EC come into force on the 21st of July 2009. For the Cyprus vessels, the newly installed equipment which are listed in Annex A of the Directive should comply with the requirements of the Directive.
