The Australian Government (AMSA) has noticed ClassNK of the special requirements for navigation lights, navigation light controllers and associated equipment which was adopted by MSC253(83) onboard the Australian registered ships (Marine Order Part30, Issue 8).

AMSA has decided to make the performance standards for navigation lights, navigation light controllers and associated equipment set out in the Annex of Resolution MSC.253(83) mandatory for ships installed on or after 1 December 2009.
