ClassNK have informed the requirements of Marine Notice No.2-011-14 Rev.4/11, "Maintenance and Inspection of Fire Protection system and Appliances" in ClassNK Technical Information No.TEC-0874 (issued on 21 November 2011). However, ClassNK inform the revised Technical Information because the Marshall Islands Government has informed ClassNK of the Notice Rev.8/12.
The previous ClassNK Technical Information No.TEC-0874 is herewith superseded.

The revised requirements from Marine Notice No.2-011-14 Rev.4/11 are the maintenance and inspection for portable fire extinguisher on board. The revised parts from TEC-0874 are underlined.

In conjunction with this amendment, two-year inspection/service for portable fire extinguishers by authorized service facility are required. In this regard, if last annual inspection/service was not conducted by service facility, next inspection/service should be conducted by service facility.

The Technical Information provides with the requirements on maintenance and inspection extracted from the Marine Notice. Therefore, as necessary, please refer to the original text of the Notice which is available from Marshall Islands Government Internet Homepage (http://www.register-iri.com).
