The Japanese Government has informed ClassNK of the application for navigation lights the performance standards of which was adopted by MSC.253(83).

The navigation lights installed on or after 1 January 2014 should be in accordance with MSC.253(83) for the Japanese ships.
This requirement should be also applicable when they are exchanged.

Note: "Installed" means "completion date of the survey for the said navigation equipment".
