Periodical inspection, maintenance and tests of fire extinguishing system etc. on board the Hong Kong flag ships
The Marine Department of the Hong Kong SAR Government have issued a Merchant Shipping Information Note (MSIN) No. 22/2012 "Revised Guidelines for the Maintenance and Inspection of Fire Protection Systems and Appliances", specifying the periodical inspection, maintenance and testing of fire protection systems and appliances for Hong Kong registered ships on or after 31 May 2013. This MSIN references to IMO Circular MSC.1 / Circ.1432.
Details of MSIN No. 22/2012 together with a copy of MSC.1 / Circ.1432 can be found on the website of Hong Kong Marine Department (http://www.mardep.gov.hk/en/msnote/msin.html).
For your reference, at every survey for Safety Equipment on or after 31 May 2013, our surveyors will confirm that the maintenance and testing of fire protection systems and appliances on board Hong Kong registered ships are in accordance with MSIN No.22/2012 and MSC.1/Circ.1432.
