This is to bring to your attention that the Indian Government has issued M.S. Notice No. 3 of 1999 the content of which is that the Indian Government makes it mandatory for all foreign flag gas carriers built prior to 1976 to comply with the provisions of the Gas Carrier Code (GC Code) and have a valid "Certificate of Fitness" under the GC Code, if the vessels are to ply on the Indian coast and to operate from Indian ports.
