Sub.	Fall Preventer Devices (FPDs) for the Maltese Flagged vessels

The Maltese Government has notified ClassNK of the special requirement for fall preventer devices (FPDs) for lifeboats on board Maltese flagged vessels as follows. Quote (e-mail dated 17 June 2011 and 28 July 2011) Reference is being made to MSC Resolution 317(89), MSC Resolution 320(89), MSC.1/Circ.1392 and MSC.1/Circ.1327. This Directorate advises that Fall Preventer Devices should be provided onboard all Maltese ships that are equipped with lifeboat on-load release devices. Fall Preventer Devices shall remain in use until such time as the said devices have undergone the necessary Design Review and Performance Test, and have been either confirmed compliant with the relevant requirements of the revised Life-Saving Appliances Code or replaced wit.....
