Qualifications and Numbers of Radio Personnel Required on board Malaysian Flag and Myanmar Flag GMDSS ships
The Malaysian Government and the Myanmar Government have recently notified the Society of their requirements for qualifications and numbers of radio personnel on board Malaysian flag and Maynmar flag GMDSS ships, which are reproduced below for information/action:
Qualifications and number of radio personnel required on board Malaysian flag GMDSS ships
One exclusive GOC or 1st/2nd REC holder; or
Two non-exclusive GOC holders
A holder of a certificate issued by other countries than the Malaysian Government should obtain recognition from Malaysia Telekom Department beforehand.
Qualifications and number required of radio personnel required on board Myanmar flag GMDSS ships
One exclusive radio officer holding 1st/2nd class radiotelegraphy certificate together with GOC; or
Two deck officers with GOC.
