About the IMO International Convention Calendar :

It aims to cover the following international conventions among those adopted by the IMO. It has three main categories:
"SAFETY", which covers the ICLL, SOLAS, and COLREG, "SECURITY", which covers SOLAS
and" POLLUTION", which covers MARPOL , AFC and BWM.
- ICLL (International Convention on Load Lines)
- SOLAS (International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea)
- MARPOL (International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships, 1973, as modified by the Protocol of 1978 relating hereto)
- COLREG (Convention on the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea, 1972)
- AFS (International Convention on the Control of Harmful Anti-fouling Systems on Ships)
- BWM (International Convention on the Control and Management of Ship's Ballast Water and Sediments,2004)
The items in the table are new mandatory requirements for either new and/or existing vessels under relevant international conventions in addition to the current regulations and conventions.
Any special requirements of the flag State concerning any non-mandatory requirements under the relevant convention are not included in the table.
The all items, which are applicable from the date of entry into force on 1 January 2002, are, in principal, contained in the table.
Definition of Ship types :
The definitions of ship type in the table are in accordance with the relevant convention unless a separate explanatory note is written below the table.

a ship constructed or adopted primarily to carry oil in bulk in its cargo spaces

| Chemical Tanker |
A ship constructed or adopted primarily to carry a cargo of noxious liquid substances in bulk

A cargo ship constructed or adopted and used for the carriage in bulk of any liquefied gas or other product listed in chapter 19 of the IGC Code

| High Speed Craft | A craft capable of a maximum speed in meters per second (m/s) equal to or exceeding 3.7 ∇0.1667(as defined in SOLAS X/1.2) |

| Ro-Ro Passenger Ship | A passenger ship had roll-on-roll-off cargo spaces. (as defined MARPOL VI) |
| Cruise Passenger Ship | A passenger ship not having a cargo deck, designed exclusively for commercial transportation of passengers in overnight accommodations on a sea voyage. (as defined MARPOL VI) |
