The Bolivian Government, the UAE Government and the Bahamian Government have notified the Society of their requirements for radio personnel on board GMDSS ships, which are reproduced below for information/action:

Required Radio Personnel on Board Bolivian Flag GMDSS Ships
1. For ships with shore based maintenance engaging on voyages sea areas A1 and A2.
- One deck or radio officer holding a GOC.
2. For ships with shore based maintenance engaging on voyages sea areas A1, A2 and A3.
- Two deck officers holding GOCs who should not be the Master of the ship, or one radio officer holding a GOC

Required Radio Personnel on Board UAE Flag GMDSS Ships
For ships with shore based maintenance engaging on voyages beyond sea area A1.
- One deck officer holding a GOC as specified in regulation IV/2 of STCW Convention, 1995.

Required Radio Personnel on Board Bahamian Flag GMDSS Ships
For ships with shore based maintenance engaging on voyages beyond sea area A1.
- One officer holding a GOC who should not be the Master of the ship.
*Requirements for radio personnel on board Bahamian flag GMDSS ships are given in NK Technical Information No.169 of 20 October 1995. The Government has, however, nofied the Society of the requirements which are reproduced above for your reference.
