The amendments of MARPOL Annex I based on MEPC Resolution 78(43) Annex paragraph II come into force on 1 January 2001. The amended supplements to IOPP Certificate (Form A or B) are to be requested on board the all ships. Please be advised that the procedure of issuance of the concerned new supplement is shown as follows ;

1. The current supplements to IOPP Certificate (Form A or B) are to be replaced with new ones for the existing ships at the first renewal survey of IOPP after 1 January 2001. New supplements are issued for new ships delivered after 1 January 2001. The current supplements for "Product Tankers" of 20,000 tons deadweight and above but less than 30,000 tons deadweight are to be replaced with new ones at the periodical survey (MAS/IS/RS) of IOPP Certificate.

2. If you wish to replace with a new supplement for ships before the first renewal survey of IOPP after 1 January 2001, a new one will be issued at the intermediate survey or mandatory annual survey of IOPP, or at any other surveys. In this case, you are requested to submit the following documents to the local surveyor's office in advance.
- Survey application
- a copy of capacity plan (updated)
- a copy of Tank Table in the oil record book
