The Greek government notified ClassNK of requirements for radio equipment of GMDSS ships that are reproduced as follows:

1. Primary batteries of Two-way VHF Radiotelephone Apparatus
Primary batteries should be provided to Two-way VHF Radiotelephone Apparatus irrespective of the installation date of the apparatus. These primary batteries should be kept sealed near the relevant equipment for use in the event of a distress situation.

2. Spare Antenna
For MF or MF/HF radio equipment, a spare wire antenna for transmission should be provided. The spare wire antenna should be prepared so as to be readily installed and used.
