Regarding "Special requirements for Life-saving appliances and Equipment onboard Marshall Islands flagged vessels" informed by ClassNK Technical Information No. TEC-0796 dated on 28 December 2009, the guidance for the survey matters is informed as follows.
Following requirements are to be applied to all ships regardless of date of construction. And the compliance with this regulation is confirmed at the next SE survey after 1 February 2010 in respect of the Cargo Ship Safety Equipment Certificate.

1. Embarkation arrangement for remotely located survival craft(III/31.1.4)(4.2 / Marine Notice 2-011-5 Rev.9/09)
(1) A knotted rope is not acceptable as "other means of embarkation".
(2) A Jacob ladder which has aluminum steps may be considered as an acceptable alternative to meet the requirements, provided that the Class Surveyor will be satisfied, after proper demonstration onboard, that the ladder can be easily operated by only one person.
2. Falls used in launching Life-saving appliances(7.2 / Marine Notice 2-011-5 Rev.9/09)
(1) Wire-rope grips "Bulldog grips" are not acceptable.
(2) Where Wire-rope grips "Bulldog grips" are found to have been used on primary load-bearing terminations, arrangements are to be made by the operators to have them replaced Wedge sockets etc.
(3) Please refer to an example of Wire-rope grips "Bulldog grips" and Wedge sockets as the attached sketch.
3. Immersion suits and Lifejackets(9.3 and 9.5 / Marine Notice 2-011-5 Rev.9/09)
(1) At a minimum, additional suits to be provided to the navigation bridge and the engine control room for all watch standers at those locations.
(2) A minimum of two(2) lifejackets and two(2) immersion suits for remotely located survival craft(III/31.1.4) are stowed.
