As you might be aware, "Regulations for the Classification and Registry of Ships" (Article 2.1.4 of Chapter 2) of ClassNK has been amended with effect from 15 June 2012, and it enables "M0" character to be set down in the "Certificate of Classification" with the Character MNS*/MNS for ships flying a flag other than Japanese with installations registration of "Automatic and Remote Control Systems" under the characters of "M0 / M0･A / M0･B / M0･C / M0･D" except for "MC".

ClassNK may therefore comply with that case by order of the ship-owner/manager (herein after referred to as "the owner") on one by one basis the manner mentioned hereunder:
1. ClassNK service sites are to confirm the owner's intention in this respect by his written application, form of which is attached hereto for ready reference, at the time of next Special Survey or Classification Survey during/after construction.
2. If the owner needs a "Certificate of Classification" indicating the character "M0", ClassNK head office will then issue it in accordance with the application above without additional charge except for the case 4. below, and the character "M0" will also be added in the ship's particulars data ("NK-SHIPS") as class information.
3. In case of the "Certificate of Classification" rewritten not at the time of above as the owner's option, please apply ClassNK by written application form of which is attached herewith.
4. As for the case falls under the following, regular fee is to be charged in spite of the aforesaid:
- At the time when "Automatic and Remote Control Systems" is deleted from the installations registration of the ship above, both the "Certificate of Classification" and the "Certificate of Installations Registration" are to be rewritten at the owner's cost.
