Status of Amendments to the Technical Rules and Guidance
ClassNK is continuously revising its Technical Rules and Guidance to reflect the wealth of technical data it is obtaining through research into advanced technologies and to incorporate the knowledge it has gained from many years of inspection experience. It also revises its Technical Rules and Guidance in response to changes made to the international conventions and codes established/revised by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), and the unified requirements and unified interpretations established/revised by the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS).
Draft amendments to the Technical Rules and Guidance are first discussed and approved by internal committees, and then officially announced after completing a prescribed revision process. Draft amendments already approved and scheduled to be officially announced in the near future can also be viewed using the RuleViewer.
